Tyrolean originality south of Innsbruck

Since 2019, the Gschnitztal with the villages of Trins and Gschnitz has been part of the elite circle of mountaineering villages of the alpine associations. The idyllic valley has preserved its original character and scores above all with landscape conservation areas, exceptional biodiversity and scenic gems (Krotenweiher, Lahnwiesen or Lärchenwald) as well as a wide range of offers for alpine tourists in summer and winter. The village of Trins is located at the entrance to the Gschnitztal valley and can be reached quickly from Steinach in 5 minutes by car - also by public transport. The guest card as a travel pass is an added bonus.

Countless marked hiking trails and MTB trails on the valley floor, to mountain huts, e.g. to the Padasterjochhaus, the Blaser Hütte and the Trunahütte, and further up to the most beautiful peaks, such as the Kesselspitze, make the heart of every active summer holidaymaker beat faster. The Gschnitztal also has a lot to offer families: the water trail along the Gschnitzbach stream, easy family-friendly hikes to the Sarnthein waterfall in Trins, as well as alpaca hikes and the mill village in Gschnitz. For experts, the Gschnitztaler Hüttentour is recommended once around the Gschnitztal on high-altitude trails that connect all the huts. Start and finish is easily possible from Trins in both directions.
