Birnbaum in the Lesach Valley
Half on a terrace, semi situated on a slope, the settlement provides a picturesque view of the image with respect to the famous sites Wodmaier and Nostra, as well as into the romantic Wolayertal and the Plenge.
Birnbaum is ideal as a starting point for many hikes. A special award for Birnbaum introduced in August of 1908 was the visit of the Austrian heir to the throne, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, who went from here on the hunt into the Wolayertal. The Wolayer-Lake with its mountain lodges is a popular hiking destination and a "must-see" for every mountain lover!
