Appropriate equipment such as breathable and weather-appropriate outdoor clothing, ankle-high hiking boots, wind, rain, and sun protection, hat, possibly gloves, is required for all hikes and routes. Bringing a first aid kit, a mobile phone, and possibly a hiking map, as well as sufficient provisions on hikes without refreshment options, is necessary.
Moderate mountain trail; suitable for sure-footed and experienced mountain hikers; good physical condition, mountain experience, and mountain equipment (see under equipment) necessary. Please check the current weather report at: www.oetztal.com/en/summer.html
Car journey to the ÖTZTAL. Located in Tyrol, the Ötztal branches southwards as the longest side valley of the Eastern Alps. Arrival by car leads travelers over the Inn valley up to the valley entrance and further along the Ötztal. Besides the toll highway, country roads may also be used. You can easily and quickly determine your route with the route planner: To the route planner: www.google.at/maps
Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal train station. The final stop or exit point is the ÖTZTAL station. Then you can conveniently and quickly travel with public transport or local taxi companies through the entire valley to your desired destination!
