In the summer, the rivers are a popular destination for sunbathing and cooling off in the crystal-clear water. Along the rivers of Vallemaggia, with rocks smoothed by the flowing water, are numerous magnificent pools in many different shades of blue and a few fine sandy beaches. In the village of Avegno, the River Maggia slows its pace, offering visitors some superb fine sandy beaches with natural pools carved into the rocks.
