The living mill village of Gschnitz

Karte ausblenden

In the mill village of Gschnitz, you go on a journey through time to discover how farmers lived and worked 100 years ago. Also to be explored: the platform at the foot of the impressive Sandes waterfall and the bridge over it.

The mill village is idyllically located at the foot of the Sandes waterfall at the head of the Gschnitz valley - right next to the last bus stop. The "village" consists of a chapel and several huts, some with mills, where you can discover something new in each hut. In one hut you can hear the old legends of the Gschnitz valley and in another you can find out everything about the forge. There is also a kiosk for a snack, a herb garden, a large children's playground, many small streams and a circular path over the waterfall. Ideal for hot days!

Open daily from mid-May to mid-October.
