The diverse lake landscape of Carinthia can be seen impressively on this stage. Wörthersee, Ossiacher See, Afritzer See, Feldsee, Millstätter See and Faaker See. Each lake has its own special charm. Millstatt Abbey is one of the most important estates in all of Carinthia. Porcia Castle in Spittal is considered one of the most important Renaissance buildings in all of Austria. Wernberg Castle is located on a dominating hill above the Drau and also includes a guest house run by the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood. Faaker See was the venue for the 1987 Cycling World Championships, with the Austrian 4-man team taking third place in the 100 km time trial.
