The voucher for the tour is available here.
Start at the intersection Quellenstrasse / Dr. Martin Erb-Strasse and follow Veloroute 2 towards «Rekingen». Shortly after the sharp right turn on Schwertgasse, the Maier bakery is located on the right side of the street. Stop No. 1.
After the stop at the bakery, return to Veloroute 2 «Rhine Route» heading towards Rietheim/Laufenburg/Rheinfelden until you reach Rietheim. In Rietheim, at the end of Badstrasse, turn right following the blue arrow, go under the railway underpass, and straight across the street to reach the floodplain «Chly Rhy». Now follow the stream to the Aue Chly Rhy parking lot. Here turn right and then continue along the Rhine shore path / Helsana Trail about 7.4 km towards Rümikon to Rekingen. Cyclists are allowed on this path; if riding is prohibited, use the parallel paved road.
At the fork «Rekingen Dorf», continue straight ahead for about 200 meters towards «Rekingen» (light red sign) and «Helsana Trail» and turn right at the next intersection. The path then leads you through the houses to the intersection marked «no priority». Turn right here to cross the large bridge to the village center.
After the bridge, follow the road towards Baldingen. Outside Rekingen, turn into «Tobelweg» at the sign «Regional shooting range». This leads directly to Böbikon.
At the bus stop «Böbikon Dorfplatz» turn left onto the road towards Wislikofen and thus quickly leave the village again. Follow the road and the stream for about 1.6 km until the paved road leads uphill to the left. Follow this road up and down to Wislikofen to the main road. Always watch out for traffic as cars also use this road.
In Wislikofen, cross the main road and follow the official bike route for 5.4 km to Schneisingen, then turn right into Gässlerweg. Then cross the country road and follow the road up into the village. At the intersection, turn left, and on the left side, you will reach your next destination, Restaurant Alpenrösli. Stop No. 2.
After lunch, go uphill through the village. Before the sign «Widen» turn left, and after the community center, turn right again to reach Widen. At the next houses, turn left after the first farm and at the next street turn right to reach the next village Lengnau. In the village center, at the roundabout, turn right towards Koblenz/Basel onto Veloroute 60 «Döttingen». Follow this until the underpass shortly before Tegerfelden.
Here, go right under the underpass and follow the path to the signs «Wine hiking trail». Follow the arrow left to reach the next destination, the Baumgartner family’s barn. In the middle of the vineyards is the grey building with a fantastic view. Stop No. 3.
Now, a large part of the route leads you about 7.6 km along the Wine Hiking Trail signs to Klingnau at the «Achenberg» signpost.
Attention: the route takes you down a steep road; brake and watch out for water channels. Drive to the right and continue on this road to the second intersection where you turn right onto Traubenweg. At the end of the path, turn right onto Höngerstrasse towards Achenberg. Follow the road to the Hönger viewpoint.
Continue towards Aepelöö Zurzach. The road leads through the forest until shortly before the forest edge where you turn right towards the forest hut. Continue following the sign towards Zurzach, keeping left.
At the next large intersection, turn right to Zurzach to reach Quellenstrasse. Follow Quellenstrasse straight ahead until you reach the large thermal parking lot again. On the right, up the hill, is the VitalBoutique Hotel Zurzacherhof and thus the destination of the journey.
We recommend bringing a backpack and a drink on the route. Also advisable is a smartphone with sufficient battery so that you can use the tour description digitally and with navigation. For easier navigation, we recommend a smartphone mount for your e-bike. We are happy to lend you a mount on request (while supplies last).
You can rent your e-bike directly from us at the tourism office; we recommend booking early. The rental is not included in the price of the tour. You also have the option to bring your own e-bike.
The minimum age is 16 years
We recommend wearing a bicycle helmet
You can reach us in 25 minutes from Baden, in 35 minutes from Zurich or Kloten airport, 40 minutes from Schaffhausen, 60 minutes from Basel, 70 minutes from Lucerne, and 90 minutes from Bern.

Various highlights along the way:
Aue Chly Rhy: Beavers, frogs, and kingfishers feel at home on the banks of the Aargau High Rhine. Breeding and nesting sites can be found in the floodplain «Chly Rhy» Rietheim, a nationally significant floodplain landscape. The renatured Rhine side arm has created a habitat for rare animals and plants.
The Barzmühle: The old grain mill, first mentioned in writing in 1446, has a long and exciting history. Let yourself be fascinated by the far-reaching stories and background.
Propstei Wislikofen: The present propstei was formerly a Benedictine monastery and served as a refuge for monks during various wars. The current educational and seminar center of the Roman Catholic Church in Aargau opened in 1976.
Jewish Cultural Trail: The villages of Lengnau and Endingen have housed people of Jewish faith since the 17th century, who were denied free settlement elsewhere in Switzerland. Nowhere in Switzerland is there such a density of Jewish architectural culture. The Jewish Cultural Trail makes this cultural heritage accessible.
Wine Hiking Trail: On this marked trail, learn interesting facts about viticulture, and also discover the scenic charms and cultural values of the Zurzibiet. This forms the northeast corner of Aargau and belongs to the Eastern Switzerland wine region. Local wines can be tasted in restaurants or wineries (by appointment) along the path.
