The start of this trail run is very moderate: almost flat and on a well-developed path that is especially popular with families (Heidipfad). After Vilterser Obersäss, the ascent really begins. We are rewarded with a crystal-clear mountain lake along the way: Vilterser Seeli. A second lake along the way is Sunntigweidsee, an artificially created reservoir lake in a wonderful location. From the beach chairs placed here, you have a magnificent view into the valley.
Take the gondola from Bad Ragaz to the starting point in Pardiel. From here, we run on the well-developed Heidipfad towards the Schwarzbüelhütte. This section has almost no elevation difference and is therefore perfect for a relaxed start to today's trail run. We run past Alp Schwarzbühl, turning right towards Vilterser Obersäss. This is our next destination, which we reach on a great trail through rugged vegetation. Now comes a challenging climb towards Vilterser Seeli. Past an alp and the cross at Tagweidli, we gain nearly 300 meters in altitude. At the lake, we turn left back towards Pardiel. At the fork (made of wood – described only from one side), we turn right in the direction marked "Suntigweidsee." This section of the path is not recorded in all hiking tools but is very well maintained. After a nicely varied trail, we arrive at Suntigsweidsee, which features a very special idea: where else in the Alps can you find beach chairs inviting you to relax? From here to the finish at Pardiel, you can once again enjoy the wonderful view towards the Rhine Valley. A forest road brings us back to the starting point. Then take the gondola back to Bad Ragaz.
