The small village of Cengles lies at the feet of the high and mighty Cengles rock face, in the Stelvio National Park boundaries. Cengles lies closely nestled up against the rock face, with the village church steeple towering conspicuously to overlook the surrounding neatly erected hedge rows, apricot trees and the Cengles biotope valley banks.
Particularly noteworthy sites located in and around Cengles are the Parish Church dating back to year 1500 and consecrated to the Nativity of Mary, featuring a side chapel classified as being one of the most beautiful sacred baroque buildings in the whole Venosta Valley; the St. Ottilia church, a simple construction with an octagonal chorus and barrel vaults and, of course, the Tschenglsburg Castle.
