Leinebergland in the Weserbergland

A wealth of undiscovered treasures awaits you in the Leinebergland in the Weserbergland. Unwind in one of our six towns - Alfeld (Leine), Elze, Freden (Leine), Lamspringe, Leinebergland, Sibbesse - and enjoy the rich nature with its little surprises. Explore dreamlike forest and mountain landscapes such as Ith, Selter or the Seven Mountains on a hike or follow the Leine on a cycle tour on the Leine-Heide cycle path.

Discover the UNESCO World Heritage Site Fagus Factory in Alfeld as a living monument, take a ride on the Almetal Railway in Sibbesse and stroll through the Convent Park in Lamspringe. Relax in the cool waters of the Elze outdoor pool or at the Apenteichquellen in Freden. Historic town centres, such as in Alfeld, Gronau and Lamspringe, invite you to explore and marvel at the half-timbered ambience.

Let yourself be spoilt by our hosts in the Leinebergland, dine in traditional inns or in modern restaurants. Regionality can also be found in the Leinebergland - regional food and artisan products are labelled with the "Leinebergland pur" seal.

On the way to the Wanderbares Leinebergland quality region

The Leinebergland would like to become even more attractive for hikers and is aiming for certification as a "Quality Region Hikeable Germany " by the German Hiking Association. But what does that mean? A quality hiking region is completely dedicated to the needs of hikers and offers hiking enjoyment at the highest level. 43 criteria must be met, from a uniformly marked network of hiking trails to hosts who specialise specifically in hikers and their wishes.
