Kamnik

There are many cities in the world distinguished for their size, importance, location, beauties, and history. To compare Kamnik with any of these is a difficult task since Kamnik is a small city standing on the banks of the Bistrica River, where the patina of the roofs, church steeples, and castle ruins merges with the green neighbouring high hills and plains, and its margins with the chain of the Kamniške Alps.

These are the components that give the city its soul and bear witness to the rich history of the small nation that succeeded in preserving its language and culture at the meeting point of Romance, Germanic, and Hungarian influences. Kamnik lived and still lives at a crossroads, which enables it to remain an important piece in the mosaic of our country.
